How We Work
Recovery can feel overwhelming.
No two recovery journeys are the same.
We begin by understanding your story, your goals, your challenges, your strengths, and the level of support that’s right for you.
This is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Together, we determine what support will give you the greatest chance of meaningful, lasting change.
Step 2 Is Creating a Personalised Recovery Plan
Recovery rarely follows a straight line.
Rather than leaving you to navigate complex decisions alone, we help guide you through the process.
This may include recovery coaching, family support, rehab and detox guidance, specialist referrals, aftercare planning, accountability, and ongoing support.
Our role is not simply to point you in the right direction.
Our role is to help you navigate the journey.
You Don’t Have To Figure This Out Alone
Most recovery services focus on one part of the journey.
We help people navigate the whole journey.
From the first conversation through treatment decisions, recovery coaching, family support, specialist referrals, aftercare, and long-term recovery, our goal is to ensure you have the right support at the right time.
Depending on your needs, this may involve helping you choose the right detox or rehab program, coordinating with treatment providers, supporting family members and loved ones, creating personalised aftercare plans, connecting you with trusted specialists, and providing continuity of care throughout the recovery process.
We believe recovery works best when people feel supported, informed, and connected every step of the way.
Because recovery isn’t just about stopping a behaviour.
It’s about creating a life you no longer need to escape from.
Access to the Right Support at the Right Time
At Your Recovery Journey, we believe lasting recovery requires more than simply stopping a behaviour.
Our work is informed by the latest understanding of addiction, behavioural change, neuroscience, trauma, attachment, and nervous system regulation.
We recognise that addictive behaviours often serve a purpose. They can become strategies for coping with stress, emotional pain, overwhelm, disconnection, shame, or unresolved trauma.
That’s why our approach extends beyond abstinence alone.
We combine trauma-trained recovery support, behavioural change principles, nervous system regulation, somatic approaches, evidence-based psychological frameworks, and practical recovery coaching to help clients create meaningful and sustainable change.
Most importantly, we recognise that no single methodology works for everyone.
Rather than forcing people into a predetermined model, we help them access the right support, at the right time, in a way that reflects their individual needs, goals, and circumstances.
Where Compassion Meets Science in Recovery
You may be trying to work out whether you need a recovery coach, psychologist, psychiatrist, detox, rehab, family support, aftercare, or simply a clear plan for what comes next.
You may be carrying the weight of addiction, anxiety, shame, family pressure, or the fear of what happens if things continue as they are.
You don’t have to figure this out alone.
Step 1 Is Understanding You
Some people need recovery coaching.
Some benefit from working with a psychologist, psychiatrist, or specialist therapist.
Some need detox or rehab.
Many need a combination of support at different stages of their recovery.
Based on your individual circumstances, we help you identify the right next steps and connect you with the services, professionals, and resources that best meet your needs.
Step 3 Is Expert Guidance Through the Process
One of the hardest parts of recovery is not knowing what to do next.
Do you need detox? Rehab? A recovery coach? A therapist? Family support? Aftercare?
Who can you trust? Which path is right for you? What happens after the first step?
These decisions can feel overwhelming when you’re already carrying so much.
When you work with Your Recovery Journey, you’ll have experienced professionals helping you understand your options, make informed decisions, and move forward with confidence.
Recovery is challenging enough without having to figure it all out on your own.
Support Beyond a Single Service
Recovery is not one-size-fits-all.
Different people benefit from different approaches at different stages of their journey.
Through our network of trusted professionals and partners, we can help connect clients with a wide range of evidence-based and complementary supports, including specialist therapy, trauma treatment, EMDR, nervous system regulation, somatic approaches, mindfulness, breathwork, family support, recovery coaching, detox and rehab services, and other therapeutic interventions when appropriate.
For clients requiring a higher level of support, we can also assist with more comprehensive recovery solutions, including bespoke treatment programs and premium recovery experiences.
Our focus is never on promoting a particular methodology.
Our focus is helping you find the right support, at the right time, from the right people.
Our Approach
Everything we do is grounded in both compassion and evidence.
We draw on the latest understanding of addiction, behavioural change, trauma, neuroscience, nervous system regulation, and recovery coaching, while recognising that genuine human connection remains one of the most important factors in successful recovery.
